Great Shoes!
When I was looking for shoes, I had some recommendations from my Physical Therapist. She suggested either New Balance or Brooks. I needed a fairly straight shoe since I over-pronate and needed a built up heel area with extra support. The shoe is absolutely perfect for me. Everything as stated above with extra height in the toe box. The length and width were exactly what I normally wear in a shoe. The shoes are incredibly comfortable and provide stability to bad knees. Great for a runner to protect against the pounding or for non-runners with specific shoe requirements…and the lollipop color wasn’t as bad as it sounded.

Superb Fit and Comfort CHEAP DYE RUNS
This is the second pair I have purchased and the fit and comfort cannot be matched by any other shoe. New Balance makes a variety of foot ‘lasts’, and publishes which is on which shoe. The last is the actual foot height, arch placement etc. This is mine, and it’s so great to know what you are buying. I am confident; the other published lasts make many more people happy too.

The purple dye around the N runs. The large purple section around back by the ankle support really runs. If your shoe gets wet, don’t touch it. The dye sticks nicely on your hand. It gets on your sox requiring special handling before tossing in the wash.

It is my every day, all-purpose shoe. Let’s be honest, how many of us regular people can be seen in “gym shoes” at the grocery store, running errands, even getting caught in the rain. This makes the runny purple dye really annoying. I wonder how many true runners ever step in a puddle.

Best shoes I have ever worn!
I have plantar faschiatis and have had to wear orthotics in all of my shoes due to severe heel pain prior to purchasing Asics. The orthotics weren’t relieving the heel pain either. Our fedex courier at my work noticed I was looking to purchase shoes online one day and he highly recommended I get a pair of Asics. Boy was he was he right. My heel pain is gone & No More orthotics. Who would know better about a really comfortable shoe than a fedex courier who is on his feet all day, everyday! You will not regret buying Asics…………..My feet are so relieved that I found these shoes!

ASICS makes the best running shoes ever!
Running shoes are a very subjective thing, I understand. Not every foot is the same and not every running shoe is built the same but Asics are by far the best brand I have run in, and I’ve run in a lot of different brands of shoes (Nike, New Balance, Adidas). They are the only shoe that I have taken out of the box and worn for the first time in a 10k with no issues whatsoever. This is a very supportive and springy shoe while being incredibly lightweight. The ventilation is great and the shoe conforms to my foot as if custome made. I have a narrow foot and normal to high arch, and I run about 15-20 miles a week. In my late 40s with fairly good, but 40+ year old knees, and I feel like I get excellent support and shock protection from these shoes. Would very highly recommend.

Best Running Shoes I’ve owned
A little about me, I’m a regular runner, cover 5 miles 2 or 3 times a week, 6’2 190 lbs with high arches and narrow feet. I have tried most of the New Balance, Nike, Adidas running shoes atleast once and I must say the very first time I put on these Asics, it was like heaven! I am a mid-foot striker so I like a lot of fore-foot cushioning and most shoes seem to load all the cushioning in the heel, not these Asics. My only con would be that I need one more eyelet to keep the shoe firmly in place for me (very narrow heels). I’ve had these for a little over a month and have seen no drop off in cushioning or ride. I do have some after market insoles that I always use and swap out every 6 weeks. For bigger guys with high arches, I couldn’t think of a better shoe.

Not just for the ASICS. Way back in 2003 and 204 i used to have new balance and those shoes used to give me a pain in the arch. I went to DSW and some one suggested to try these even though they are costlier. To better understand my foot he explained me about my arch,heel and my foot. Amazingly ASICS just fits my needs. I have suggested to my mother, wife and even brought them too. NO COMPLAINS against ASICS what so ever. Great shoes and the last one lasted for 4 years. I think i got a bang for my buck

This is my first pair of Asic’s. From the moment I first put them on, I was impressed with the comfort of the shoe. I have been using them for the past week and I am very happy with the comfort and style of the shoe. These will definitely not be the last pair of I Asic’s I will own. Awesome Shoe!

AWESOME! Best Asics I’ve had to date!
I researched these shoes a lot before I bought them. They are so soft and cushioned yet light. I was starting to have shin splints and knee pain and after throwing out my old shoes in favor of these, the pain is completely gone. These are incredibly comfortable and very good looking running shoes. I’d like to wear these shoes all the time I’m so darn happy with them! I have no complaints except that I didn’t get them sooner!

This is a great shoe!!!!! I have been wearing this same shoe for about 10 years and just love it. I am not a runner but a walker and it works just great for walking. My first purchase was made at a running store when the sales associate suggested the shoe to me. The last (base on which the shoe is constructed) does not change; therefore, the new pair fits like the last pair I owned. For me, this has been a wonderful shoe for years…… and hopeful for you too.

Awesome shoes!
I’m in my 20′s and am overweight. I’ve never been able to truly exercise, because my shoes weren’t right for my feet. I would walk a few miles and the bottoms of my feet would just ache and ache for days. I bought these shoes after doing some research and I have walked/ran in them everyday for the past month. I have very high arches. My feet never hurt anymore and they are so light to walk in! Probably the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever bought. Would recommend this to anyone who has high arches! (Not to mention they are super cute!)

I’m a beginning runner. About two months ago I partcipate on a 10k race and it was a disaster! I end it up with a strong pain on may calves. I could’nt even walk to work the next day. This has never happen to me before, shortly I understood that the problem were my old running shoes… So I started looking for some type of supportive and cushioned shoes and find this ones… PROBLEM SOLVE! This shoes are fantastic, I no longer have problems with my footsteps and actually I’m improving my time during training! 100% recommended

Excellent running shoe
These shoes are extremly comfortable and the size was right on target. This is the third pair of running shoes I have purchased from New Balance and plan on continued purchasing of thier products. Overall these shoes are very comfortable and do not rub and part of my feet.

Seriously the Best and Made in the USA
I still remember the first time I slipped on a pair of 991s, it felt like putting on a pair of socks – fantastic. That was a couple of decades ago and I have not purchased a different brand or style of running shoe since then.

I was a bit surprised when New Balance discontinued the foam cushining 991 and replaced it with the gel cushioned 992. It took a bit of getting used to but I made the transition to 992s. With the 992s also came the option to get several different colors of 992s: the 991s always only came in grey.

I was elated to learn though that the company had again upgraded to 993s which includes a combination of foam and gel. I think they’re lighter than 992s too and the feel on first putting on a pair of 993s is very similar to putting on a pair of 991s. They did keep the multiple color options of the 992 line so you can get these in black, grey, white.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this product.

Foremost on my loyalty is the commitment that the company has to local markets. The 993s are Made in the USA and in the back of each of these shoes you can see the prominent USA in bold against an American flag. They are a patriot’s shoe and they are quite popular in the military. Unlike other shoe companies that use almost slave child labor to make shoes and then sell them at horrendous profits in America, New Balance provides good jobs in the US. Yes they make less profit and they endorse fewer athletes but we buyers are loyal because:

a) its a fantastic product
b) probably the best running shoe made (don’t take my word, try one)
c) they’re made in the USA
d) the company is committed to local markets and to producing quality running shoes

No I don’t run many marathons anymore (but I have in the past) and I do love these shoes and once every couple of years when my old pair of 993s get relegated to the home repair shoe, I will go out and buy a shiny new pair of 993. It’s always just a little bit special when I put on a new pair….

Btw, my closet has a lineup from the two pairs of decade old beaten up old 991s that still come out when I do gardening to the 992s that have been recently demoted with the purchase of my 993s: Yes I still own my 991s, the go through the washer now and again and they still work even after 10 to 15 years (amazing quality)….but they can’t be seen in public anymore.

Anyhow, I hope this helps you make a decision on these shoes. It’s hard to find a running shoe that has history and character like this line and I’ll admit I’m a bit selfish here, the more popular 993s remain – the less likelihood that they’ll be discontinued before I die.

Skip the 15′s, go for the 16′s!
I loved my Kayano 14s, so when it was time to buy new shoes, I hit the internet for a second pair. Unfortunately, they quit making them. I decided to order a pair of the 15s, but I was disappointed. They felt very different from the 14s, and not only caused a lot of foot and ankle pain, they also made my lower back hurt. I sent them back and went to my local running store where I was introduced to the 16s. According to the store, there was a pretty quick turn around between the 15s and 16s. I feel the 16s compare much better to the 14s. My first time out in them, I was able to go 9 miles with very little toe-rubbing/breaking-in issues.
Long story short, if you are looking to replace your 14s, skip the 15s, and try the 16s. They’re a much better transition for us flat-footed and moderate pronators!

Comfortable for any activity
I love these shoes! I work 12 hour shifts and am usually on my feet, and at the end of the day, my feet dont hurt anymore. I wore them to the gym and they were awesome running shoes on top of it, so im buying a second pair. I would definitely recommend these.

Great Shoes!
I’ve had two pair of these shoes and they are great. My previous Nike shoes ran out of cushion in several months. These shoes are more costly but are worth the investment. I have trained for a 1/2 marathon and full marathon in these shoes and they have been great. No problems at all. They are just a tad bit heavier b/c they do have lots of extra cushion. But, it’s not enough heaviness to not purchase them. You’ll be happy with them.

One of the BEST running shoes around
This shoe has absolutely the best support there is around. I shopped around a bit and nothing could beat this one. The first time I used it, I felt the medial arch support it gave (that’s why it’s great for people with flexible flat feet – moderate overpronators). This shoe is perfect for running on roads, in trails and moderately uneven terrain. It cushions for impact and if you want better support than this, I would suggest getting the green Superfeet shoe insert in place of the current insert for better shock absorption.

This is a shoe that I see myself using not just every day at work (I am a physical therapist and I am on my feet 8 hours a day) but also getting many miles of running on them. You are getting an excellent pair of shoes for its price.

In shoes, as in life, you get what you pay for…
If you are looking for an everyday shoe or have only a passing interest in running, you’ll probably want to go buy something less expensive. Yes, the Kayano 16 is an expensive shoe. If you have adopted a running lifestyle, are running a significant number of miles per week (25+), or are training for a marathon or half-marathon, you know the value of a good shoe and the Kayano is worth the investment.
The quality of the construction is fantastic. I have logged 400 miles on these shoes and they are holding together perfectly. The ride is soft and the shoe feels light on the feet. The space in the toe box has drastically reduced the number of blackened toes and lost toe nails. The manner of running the lacing down the line of the foot makes for a much more comfortable and secure fit.
If you are a runner looking for a great investment in your feet, the Kayano 16 is a fantastic choice.

Great running shoes
I am a casual runner (10-15 miles a week) and I’ve been using Kayano’s for about three years now. Prior to using them I suffered from pretty severe plantar fascitis that really limited my ability to train. These shoes have great stability and in my opinion, have really helped me overcome my plantar fascitis. I’ve run countless 5 & 10Ks in these shoes as well as a few half-marathons. I would recommend them for anyone who wants to take care of their feet, but get the workouts they want. The Gel Kayano 16 surely doesn’t disappoint.

Great shoes!
These are the best shoes that I have ever owned. I am a over-pronator and need the right shoes. I have used many but have found these shoes to be the best for me. I wear a B width and New Balance is the only company that offers a complete line of widths in all of their shoes. Kudos to New Balance.

Got Plantars Facia? Get ‘em
My wife has suffered from Plantars Facia for several years. About a year ago her podiatrist recommended this shoe. Although a bit pricey, the support is perfect and pain associated with Plantars Facia has been eliminated! No, she doesn’t wear the men’s model but rather the WR1123. Having a B width available is perfect for her. New balance, American Made, is the ONLY running shoe for this family.

Neuroma and flat feet
I have played ball my entire life and still do plus golf and some running. I developed a neuroma on my right foot from the years of pounding punishment on my very flat feet. I was in unbelievable pain. Not wanting surgery, I researched footwear. Found New Balance softball cleats and was able to play softball again pain free. Decided to research a running shoe and came upon the 1123. While I still have some discomfort when I run, I NEVER THOUGHT I’D BE RUNNING AGAIN. Thank you New Balance. The ONLY running shoe I’ve tried (and I tried ALL the motion control shoes) that allow me to run again. I find myself wearing these all the time. I Was an 8.5-9.0 on a ten point pain scale pre-1123. Now, I’m a 3 and somedays a 1 or a 2. HUGE difference. Feel like I got a part of my life back again. Would really be disappointed if these shoes were ever discontinued.

Different Than Previous Nimbus Models, But Also Better
The Nimbus 12 is new for 2010 and is a worth successor to the excellent Nimbus 11. If you are a neutral runner (with maybe slightly higher arches) that optimizes for comfort over distance ahead of absolute speed this is a good shoe for you or at least a good shoe for you to train in to avoid injuries.

The Nimbus line is one of Asics franchise shoes; it is at the higher end of cost and purpose made for running. Note that there is little lateral support, so if you are cross-training in other sports you may need another pair of shoes. The Nimbus is particularly well suited for high-mileage runners (those running 25 miles or more a week) and those with a “neutral” gate and slightly higher arches – there is greater cushioning for the arches.

For background, I am 6’1″, 175, and run three to six miles several days a week – 2/3rds of the time on a treadmill and 1/3 of the time outside. Some seasons I kick up the miles for a marathon, but in general running is part of a cross training program. I have traditionally, oscillated between New Balance and Asics, but tend to favor Asics (in part because the numbering system used by New Balance makes it more challenging to find the same types of shoes from year to year). The Nimbus 12s are probably my 5th or 6th iteration with the Nimbus line.

When you first see these in person you will notice two changes from previous versions:
1. more flash
2. an asymmetrical lacing pattern
The toe caps and portions of the shoe are shiny and look jazzier (to some maybe more expensive) than previous versions. The asymmetrical lacing pattern means that the laces follow an angle from the front of the shoe to the back, rather than the traditional parallel line (along the middle) from front to back. In theory this is to follow the contour of your foot more closely for comfort. Personally, I cannot feel a real difference, but I don’t cinch my laces very tightly either, and the tongue of the shoe tends to provide enough cushion from the laces. Would rate this as much marketing as a value add feature.

The real difference from earlier versions is evident when you put them on. Instead of your foot sitting on a traditional wedge of foam, your heel actually sinks lower into the footbed of the shoe. At first they feel almost a little big, like you are wearing a low top shoe that comes up to your ankle and is also one size too large. But your foot also feels like you just slid into a well fitted shoe – strange paradox that is a little disorienting…until you go for a run.

Running is where these really stand out. If you are looking for cushioning, these are the softest version of the Nimbus yet. Running on a treadmill or anything short of hard cement and you will feel like you are running on soft earth. Not so soft that you feel like you are running on sand, but soft earth – like a well kept grass soccer field. The clunky feeling that you felt in first trying them on disappears and they feel great. You can run many miles and your feet still feel good. On the flip side, if you feel that the cushioning robs you of energy, then would suggest another shoe.

Two asides: (1) if you are new to Asics, most people order one size larger than their street shoe – ie, if you where a 10 in regular shoes, you may need and 11 and (2) maybe in the minority on this, but I continue to be bothered that the stock insoles on the Nimbus are pathetic. For a shoe you are investing more than $120 in, the insoles are barely better than cardboard. But almost all running shoes suffer from this issue, so I am not deducting a star for this.

In summary, if you like the Asics feel, these are significantly different from previous iterations externally and internally, but an excellent shoe overall.

Great heavy duty shoes!
ASICS Men’s Gel-Nimbus 12 is a fantastic shoe for those who need lots of cushioning. I have a hip that get’s sore if I run more than 3 times a week and trails runs aren’t always easy or convenient where I live. This shoe is very good for hard surface running i.e asphalt, concrete.
